Abstract |
Emerging from modest beginnings in traditional institutions, there has been an upsurge of printmaking in the Cairns art community with the development of new vibrant art spaces entirely devoted to the print medium. However, it is still not well understood by the general public. The printmakers are striving to increase awareness of the medium, consolidate their skills and resources to address issues of geographical distance. Their presence at the Impact 7 conference is clear evidence that they are reaching out and forming new links with a national and international audiences to effectively market, promote and move towards excellence with their art product. |
